Daughter of the painter Franz Wisenthal. Her mother was a pianist. She entered the school of the Hofoper when she was ten years old and she became a solo dancer at the Hofoper in 1902. In 1908 she left the Hofoper and started a dancing group with her sisters Elsa and Bertha. They debuted at the Fledermaus Cabaret in Vienna and performed in Berlin, St. Petersburg, Budapest and Prague.

After she married the painter Erwin Lang she started a solo career in 1910. In 1917 she started a dance school in Vienna and from 1934 to 1952 she was a professor at the Academy in Vienna. She died in 1970 in Vienna and the Wiesenthalgasse in Vienna was named after her.
