Götz von Langenheim was the son of the actress Helga Lundberg. He served as an air force helper at a flakturm during the last part of the Second World War. After the war his mother gave him acting lessons. Before he was twenty years old he played in Düsseldorf under Gustaf Gründgens. After that he held engagements in Osnabrück, Trier, Kaisterslautern and Baden-Baden. For several years he worked in Frankfurt am Main under the director Fritz Rémonds. He apperared in Hamburg at the Theater im Zimmer and at the Kleine Komödie.

In the 1950s he also started appearing in films and on television. He married the actress Blanche Aubry in 1959. During the 1970s and 1980s he also performed at the Burgtheater in Vienna. For many years he was an animal rights activist. He died in 2013 and was buried next to his wife who had died in 1986.
