Salvatore Patti was a tenor who was best known for appearances in works by Donazetti. After working in Madrid Patti went to New York in 1847. There he became a director at the Italian Opera.

In 1830 he had married the singer Caterina Barilla, the widow of the composer Francesco Barilli. Their daughters Amelia, Carlotta and Adelina all became singers and their son Carlo was a violinist and a conductor. Salvatore died in Paris in 1869. In 1887 he was buried in the mausoleum of his son-in-law Maurice Strakosch at the Père Lachaise cemetery.
