Josefine Frölich was the sister of Katharina Fröhlich, who was known as Franz Grillparzer's 'eternal bride'. Grillparzer befriended all four
Josefine was engaged at the Hofoper in Vienna (1821-1822). She followed her teacher Giuseppe Siboni to Kpenhagen and she became a Royal Danish chamber singer. She also held engagements at Prague (1826) and Milan (1830).
