Louise Kartousch was educated at the music schools of Linz and Vienna. As a child she had several parts in Linz and from 1902 she worked as second soubrette in Linz and appeared at the opera as a Walküre. In 1907 she was engaged at the Theater an der Wien, where she appeared in operettas by Lehar and others.

From 1911 onwards she often worked with Ernst Tautenhayn. She appeared in operettas like "Eva", "Dollarprinzessin", "Rose von Stambul" and "Graf von Luxemburg". During the 1930s she also appeared in several movies. Her last movie appearance was in "Wenn die Götter lieben" (1942).

11/10/1913Premiere of Franz Lehár's operetta "Die ideale Gattin" at the Theater an der Wien in Vienna. The libretto was written by Julius Brammer and Alfred Grünwald. Lehár was the conductor.
