Michel Waldberg was born in Saint-Mandé as the son of the writer Patrick Waldberg and the sculptor Isabelle Waldberg-Farner. During his youth he lived in New York, where he met André Breton and Marcel Duchamp. From 1956 to 1962 he worked as a photographer. He studied at the Sorbonne, but he frequently interrupted his studies with stays in Africa, where he worked as a teacher. From 1974 he was a professional writer and he worked for many newspapers and magazines. The authors Charles Duits and Frédérick Tristan were his friends. In 1995 his novel "La Boîte verte" was followed and several more followed. He also wrote essays on art and on the history of spirituality.
