Luis Casadesus was the son of the actress Francesca Casadesus, who was known as Ramadié. His father was the writer Paul de Kock (1793-1871). He emigrated from Catalonia to France, where he worked as a typographer and as an accountant. At night he directed café orchestras. He married Mathilde Sénéchal and from their thirteen children nine reacher adulthood and eight became musicians. In 1913 he published a guitar teaching method.
