Anne Kallina started her acting career as a child and from 1888 she was a member of the Burgtheater. Her first important part was that of Bertha in "Die Ahnfrau" on 2 Nov 1891. In 1906 she married the lawyer Egon Witrofsky. From her affair with J. von Petersdorf she had a daughter, Elisabeth Kallina.

She played in classical as well as modern parts during the 50 years that she was engaged at the Burgtheater. She also appeared in several silent movies and in 1921 she was Queen Anne in "The Grinning Face". In 1928 she became a honourary citizen of Vienna. In 1933 she retired from the Burgtheater. She died in 1948 in Vienna.
