Jacqueline Porel was the daughter of the writer actor Jacques Porel (1893-1982), who was a son of the famous acress Réjane (1856-1920). Her mother was Anne-Marie Duval (1890-1935).

She appeared in many theatre productions between 1838 and 1963 and in around twenty movies between 1935 and 1977. She dubbed Deborah Kerr, Audrey Hepburn, Lana Turner and other actresses into French.

In 1941 she married the actor François Périer. He recognized her son Jean-Marie Périer (b.1940) whose gather was singer Henri Salvador (1917-2008). With Périer she had a son, Jean-Pierre (1943-1966) and a daughter Anna-Marie (b.1945). She divorced Périer in 1947 and married Gérard Landry in 1951. Their son Marc Porel (1949-1983) was born before their marriage. The marriage with Landy ended in divorce as well.

Jacqueline Porel died in Boulogne-Billancourt in 2012. She was 93 years old. She was buried at Passy cemetery in Paris in the grave of Réjane.
