Marc Porel was the son of actress Jacqueline Porel, a granddaughter of the far more famous actress Réjane. His father was the actor Gérard Landry, whose real surname was Marrier de Lagatinerie. After Jean-Claude Brialy noticed him, he debuted in "Un homme de trop" by Costa-Gavras. After that he appeared in movies next to Jean Gabin and Alain Delon. In 1972 he playerd the part of Ludwig II's lover Richard Hornig in Visconti's "Ludwig ou le Crépuscule des dieux". he also appreared in Visconti's "L'Innocent" (1976). His first wife was the model and actress Bénédicte Lacoste. They had a daughter, Bérangère de Lagatinerie (1968-1991). In 1977 he married the actress Barbara Magnolfi. Their daughter Camilla was born in 1981. In 1983 he died of a heroin overdose in Casablanca. He was buried in the grave of Réjane as Passy cemetery in Paris. Family Mother: Porel, Jacqueline |
