Daughter of Richard Wagner and his mistress Cosima, who at the time was still married to conductor Hans Von Bülow. She married Franz Beidler, a promising conductor from Switzerland. They had a son, Franz junior. After serious conflicts between the Wagners and the Beidlers Isolde went to court to claim rights to Wagner's estate because she was his eldest daughter. But after Cosima falsely declared that Von Bülow was her father she lost the case. Isolde never spoke to her mother again until her death in 1919 of malaria. She was buried at the Waldfriedhof in Munich. In 1966 the grave was removed but she was reburied in Starnberg-Söcking.
