Biana Duhamel was the daughter of the actor Napoléon Duhamel (1843-1910) and the operetta singer Bibiane Augustine Goffard (1844-1901). The actress and singer Sarah Duhamel was her younger sister. As a child Biana played parts in Roeun. In Paris she debuted at the Théâtre de la Gaîté in 1885. Her first appearance in an operetta was on 12 Novemer 1890 in in Edmond Audan's "Miss Heyliett" at the Bouffes-Parisiens. She performed this part 800 times. Baron Albert de l'Espée (1852-1918) fell in love with her and built and a villa for her around 1895 on his lands near Biarritz. She lived there with her mother, but the Baron was fat and unattractive and didn't want her to leave her house. After she started visiting soirées in Biarritz in 1898 he installed a spotlight on the roof of his château to watch her villa. She left him soon afterwards. Biana died in 1910 in Paris.
