Vanni Scheiwiller was the son of the publisher Giovanni Scheiwiller (1889-1965), the founder of the publishing house "All'insegna del Pesce d'Oro". His mother Artemia was a daughter of the sculptor Adolfo Wildt. Vanni took over his father's business and published over 3,000 titles between 1951 and 1999. He wrote art columns in "Panorama" (1969-1978) and other magazines. In 1977 he founded the publishing brand "Libri scheiwiller".
