Gabel Leplus was the son of Joachim-François-Joseph Leplus. He won first prize for flute at the Conservatory of Paris in 1825. He worked as solo flutist at the Opéra-Comique, at the Théâtre-Italien and at the Opera. In 1838 he married the singer Jenny Colon, but she died in 1842. In 1846 he married Antoinette Habeneck, the daughter of Antoine Habeck. With her he had three children. Family • Wife: Colon, Jenny (1838-1842, Paris) |
