Rudolf Geyling was the son of the painter Michael Georg Geyling. He studied under Ch. Ruben and C. Wurzinger at the academy in Vienna. In 1868 he became a member of the Künstlerhaus in Vienna. His paiting "Hagen and Danube Nymphs" earned him a scholarship from the Academy that enabled him to study in Italy from 1872 to 1873. After his uncle Carl Geyling died he directed the family business and developed his skills as a glass painter. His work can be foud in St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna.
