Alexandre Aguado (1813-1861) was the son of the banker and art collector Alexandre Aguado (1784-1842). He was educated at the military academy in Saint-Cyr and worked at the embassies in Vienna and Florence. In Florence he married Emily MacDonell, the daughter of a British consul. She had started working for Empress Eugénie shortly bedore her marriage and became her Lady of the Palace. Alexandrea Aguado suffered from mental confusion and he died in 1861.
