Jacqueline Francell was the daughter of Fernand Francell, a tenor at the Opéra-Comique in Paris. In 1928 she played in her first operetta at the Théâtre des Bouffes-Parisiens next to René Koval. Many operettas followed and from 1931 to 1944 she also appeared in films, including "La petite Chocolatière" (1931) by Marc Allégret. She continued her career during the Second World War as well as after the war. In 1948 she appeared in "Plume au vent" at the Comédie des Champs-Élysées.

In 1929 she had an affair with the actor Jean Gabin. She married Gabriel Bouillon, a brother of the conductor Jo Bouillon. She died after an operation at the age of 54.
