Fernand Francell studied at the Conservatory in Paris where Jacques Isnardon and Rose Caron were his teachers. He debuted at the Opéra-Comique in 1906 as Vincent in Gounod's "Mireille". He sang many other parts and in 1908 he also appeared at the Théâtre de la Gaîté in Paris. In 1921 he appeared as Mârouf in Nice with great success. In 1932 he appeared as Louis XIII in the film "Les Trois Mousquetaires" and in in 1936 he had a role in "L'Appel du silence", in which his daughter Jacqueline Francell appeared as well.

Events
4/5/1910Premiere of Terrasse's "Le mariage de Télémaque" at the Opéra-Comique in Paris. The libretto was written by Jules Lemaitre. Fernand Francell was Telémaque and Lucien Fugère was Ulysses. Marguerite Bériza performed the part of Pénélope and Mathilde Cocyte was Eurymeduse. The dancers included Régina Badet and Stacia Napierkowska.
