Titina de Filippo was the extramarital daughter of playwright Eduardo de Scarpetta and Luisa de Filippo, who was a seamstress in De Scarpetta's company. She debuted on the stage when she was onbly seven years old. In 1922 she married the actor Pietro Carloni and the marriage lasted until her death.

In 1931 she formed the company "Compagnia Teatro Umoristico: i De Filippo" together with her brothers Eduardo and Peppino. They created comedies and performed in theatres all over Italy. In 1944 Eduardo left the company. Titina and Peppiono continued their collaboration until the early 1950s.

In the 1930s she wrote several plays for the company. Only in the 1990s they were printed for the first time and rescued from oblivion.
