Therese Kainzl was the daughter of the railway manager Alfred Kaizl and the salonière Christine Kaizl-Hebbel. The famous playwright Friedrich Hebbel was her grandfather and the actress Christine Hebbel her grandmother. She acted under the name of Hebbel. In 1889 she made her debut in Riga. In 1890 she was engaged at the Burgtheater in Vienna together with her sister Christine. Her engagement at the burgtheater ended on 30 June 1891 and after that she appeared at the Landestheater in Graz. During the summers of 1892, 1894 and 1896 she made guest appearances in Gmunden, where her grandparents once had a house. She married the industrialist Günther Marquard Edmund Seutter von Lötzen (12/05/1869-28/07/1933). In 1898 they had a daughter, Christine (d.1974). In 1947 she died in Vienna and she was buried in the grave of her husband at the Hütteldorfer Friedhof.
