Georgina Hayman was the daughter of a solicitor named Bridges that was visited by Charles Dickens. She claimed that Dickens based the character of Little dorrit on her when she was aged seventeen. She came to Southsea, Portsmouths with her son and was buried there at Highland Road Cemetery after her death in 1910. Her gravestone was placed by the Dickens Fellowship.
