Friedrich von Haymerle studied law in Vienna and worked in finance and in the oil industry. He was interested in cars and from 1918 onwards he was the president of the Österreichischen Automobilclub. In 1920 he founded the Micco Filmerzeugungsgesellschaft Wien - Berlin together with Viktor Michelizzi. The first movie that was produced by the company was "Graf Cagliostro". Liane Haid had a role in it and he married her in 1923. In 1924 he withdrew from the film business and in 1932 his marriage to Haid ended. He was also a composer of music.
