Giuseppe came from a well known Italian family. He received musical lessons in Milan with a focus on singing. In 1781 he joined the Court Chapel of Salzburg and he soon befriended Leopold and Nannerl Mozart. He married Theresia Gschwendtner in 1788 but she died after 2.5 years of marriage. His second wife was Antonia Honikel. They married in 1800 and thye had a daughter and three sons. From 1796 to 1798 he was the director of the Landestheater in Salzburg together with Lorenz Hübner. After the Court Chapel was dissolved in 1806 he went to Vienna, where he was employed at the court until 1833. He lived with his family in Salzburg. Towards the end of his life he moved to Würzburg, where he died in 1836. Related persons was teacher of Milder-Hauptmann, Anna |
