Wilhelmine Rennert was the daughter of the actors Heinrich and Katharina Rennert. In 1866 she debuted at the Wallnertheater in Berlin without any formal acting education. She married the actor Friedrich Mittelwurzer in 1867. After work in Pest ang Graz, in 1869 Heinrich Laube engaged at the Stadttheater in Leipzig and from 1871 to 1909 she worked at the Burgtheater in Vienna where performed in plays by Molière, Shakespeare, Ibsen, Goethe and many others.
