Ilse Korn is known as the author of children's books. She also
wrote under the name of Cornelia Holm. She lived with her husband
Vilmos Korn at the Ernst-Thälmann-Straße 55 in Kleinmachnow
near Berlin. They had a daughter, Nina Madlen Korn. Her husband
was a communist and Ilse was arrested by the Gestapo in 1943.
She survived the bombing of Dresden while she was still imprisoned.|
After the war the Russians gave her several positions in the DDR. She continued living in Kleinmachmow and she made herself a name with her children´s stories. She continued her work until her death in 1975. She was buried beside her husband who had died in 1970.
