Daughter of Bertold Brecht and his first wife Marianne Zoff. She grew up with her mother and her new husband, the popular actor Theo Lingen. In Vienna she studied dance and she was engaged as an actress and a dancer in Salzburg. During the nazi era she and her Jewish mother were protected by the popularity of Lingen. Imn 1948 she married the physician Joachim Hiob. In 1959 she played the leading part in Brecht's "Die heilige Johanna der Schlachthöfe" ("Saint Joan of the Stockyards") under the direction of Gustav Gründgens in Hamburg. She also worked in Munich, Frankfurt am Main, Vienna and Berlin. In 1976 she retired from the stage.
