Angelica Hauff was born as Alice Suchanek. As a child she performed as a ballet dancer at the Vienna State Opera. She was educaed as an actress at the Max-Reinhardt-Seminar in Vienna. In 1942 she was engaged at the Landestheater in Salzburg and she appeared her first move "Musik in Salzburg" in 1943. In "Zirkus Renz" (1943), Arthur Maria Rabenalt gave her a leading role and her fame grew so rapidly that she was included by the nazis in the Gottbegnadeten-Liste of indispensable actors.

After the war she appeared in the opera film adaption "Figaros Hochzeit" (1949) and in the musical "Dr. Semmelweis - Retter der Mütter". She also had roles in Brazilian films. Through the years her film parts became smaller and she concentrated on the theatre. From 1955 until her death she was a member of the cast of the Burgtheater in Vienna. In 1977 she appeared in the French comedy "Dr. Semmelweis - Retter der Mütter". She received the Austrian title of Kammerschauspielerin shortly before her death in 1983.
