She was already on the stage of the Théâtre du Châtelet when she was five years old and by the time she was eighteen she performed at the Casino de Paris. In 1929 she made her movie debut in "La Possession", a silent movie. This movie was seen by the millionaire Nelson Morris of Chicago who wanted to meer her. They went to the USA together and married. The marriage didn't last, but he survived the Hindenburg disaster in 1937.

After her divorce Jeanne appeared in Broadway comedies and in 1934 she appeared in the Hollywood production "The Gem Of The Ocean". She returned to France in 1935 where she appeared in several movies before she returned to the stage in Paris in 1937. She appeared with Fréhel in Paris, but also appeared in London and other cities in Europe. She also continued to appear in movies and in television productions.
