In 1856 she married the actor and author Ludwig Gabillon, with whom she had two daughters. Dora married the historian August Fournier and Helene married the author Ludwig Bettelheim.

In 1878 she translated a play by Alfred de Musset in German. The Gabillons had close relations with art patron Jenny Mautzer and her husband Isidor Mautner. Both she and her daughter Dora (b.1850) were painted by Hans Makart.

Her last appearance on the stage was on 10 Dec 1891 in Grillparzer's "Der Traum, ein Leben". She had been worried by ill health since 1890 and she died during a cure in Merano in 1892. In 1894 Ludwig Hevesi published a novel about her life. It was illustrated by her daughter Helene (b.1857).
