Christine Boutevilain was the daughter of a leather mechant. She studied drama under Julien Bertheau and René Simon. When she appeared in a movie as an extra in 1952 she used the name Christine Fabréga and she continued to use it for the rest of her career. In 1965 she was the first to present the television show "Le Mot le plus long". The sow was popular and she presented it until 1970.

Between 1966 and 1977 she appeared in at least ten movies including "Le Deuxième Souffle" in 1966. From 1976 to 1987 she appeared in the television game show "Les Jeux de 20 heures". In 1988 she died of cancer.
