Sister of the composer Richard Wagner. She was trained as a actress. After her stepfather Ludwig Geyer died she had to take care of the income of the family. In 1826 she obtained a contract in Prague and she moved together with her mother and her sisters to that city. In 1828 she was engaged at the theatre in Leipzig. She was the first to play the part of Gretchen in Goethe's "Faust" on 28 Aug 1829. In 1836 she married professor Oswald Marbach (1810-1890), but she died in 1837, five days after her first child had died.
