Alois Delug studied history in Innsbruck and then art in Vienna, where he was a student of Karl Leopold Müller. He started out as an artist in Munich in 1888. In 1896 he returned to Vienna, where he became a member of the Secession. From 1898 until 1928 he was a teacher at the Acedemy in Vienna, where Faistauer, Koller-Pinell and Kolig were among his students. According to Hitler biographer Josef Greiner it was Delug who denied Hitler a place at the Art Academy in Vienna in 1907. At Grinzing (Vienna) he started a Kunstschulkolonie (Art school colony), aiming to reform art education. From 1923 to 1924 he visited the USA. Related persons was teacher of Fronius, Hans |
