Daughter of the poet Shelley's friend Thomass Hogg and Jane Williams. Mary Shelley was her godmother. She married twice. Her first husband was the magistrate Thomas Arnold. Her second husband was James John Lonsdale, who was Recorder of Folkestone. She had no children. She left a portrait of Shelley after the original by Amelia Curran to the National Portrait Gallery.
