Son of Alexandre Aguado, who was a son of the Alexandre Aguado who supported Joseph Bonaparte in Spain. Arthur's mother Marie-Claire MacDonell was a lady in waiting of the empress Eugénie.

Arthur worked as a chamberlain for emperor Napoleon III. He married Helene Jacobs. He died in 1894 in Paris and was buried at the Auteuil Cemetery in Paris.
