Hertha Fauland was an illegitimate child. She spent her first years with a foster mother. She attended the Schauspielschule Otto after a recommendation by Oskar Werner. She performed at a student theatre with Helmut Qualtinger and others. After that she held engagements in Bonn, Bregenz, Darmstadt, Frankfurt am Main, Salzburg and Linz. From 1955 onwards she often appeared at the Stadttheater in Klagenfurt and she continued her career there until 2000. She also appeared in several television productions. She married three times and the actors Werner Kreindl and Elmar Gunsch were two of her husband. She had no children and all her marriages ended in a divorce. She died in 2020 in Klagenfurt. |
