Leontine Stern wa the daughter of a private scholar who educated her. After her father died when she was sixteen years old she became a teacher, but she had to give up teaching because of ear problems. After that she wrote stories and novels under the name of A. Noël that were often set in the theatrical world that she knew well. For several years she accompanied her younger sister who was a singer. The Union Deutsche Verlagsgesellschaft published "Didiers Braut" (1900) and "Freundinnen. Im Lichtmeer. 2 Novellen" (1908). Other works were "Kleines Volk. Kindergeschichten für Erwachsen" (1891) and "Zwischen Mutter und Vater. Wiener Roman aus der Vorkriegszeit". She died in 1916.
