Giorgi Cino was the only son of the businessman Count Vittorio Cini (1885-1977) and the actress Lydia Borelli (1884-1959). He studied law and political science in Padua before he joined the family business. He managed to have his father released from concentration camp Dachau in 1944 by paying bribes to SS guards after selling his mother's jewels.

After the war succesfully he defended his father, who had sided with Mussolini until 1943. He was engaged with the actress Merle Oberon. When he was only 30 years old he died not far away from her in a plane crash immediately after take-off from the Daint-Cassien airport in Cannes. His father established the Giorgio Cini Foundation on the San Giorgio islan in Venice in his memory.
