Alexander Brisse completed the drying up of Lake Fucino. The project had bee nstarted in 1854 and he finished it in 1876. He became a knight of the Legion of Honor in 1879. He died in 1892 in Rome. His monument at the Cimitero Monumentale del Verano was created by Arnaldo Zocchi from Florence. |
