Françoise Ermessinde de Narbonne-Pelet was the daughter of Francois-Bernard de Narbonne, comte de Pelet (1761-1788). Her mother was Adelaïde le Comte de Nonant de Pierrecourt (d.1794). In 1802 she married Charles Marie Paul André d'Albert de Luynes, 6 éme Duc de Luynes, 7th Duc de Chevreuse (1783-1832).

She was a lady of the chamber of Joséphine de Beauharnais. Napoleon wanted to bring her into the service of the queen of Spain in order to spy for him, but she refused. As a result she was banished from Paris and she settled in Lyon. Madame de Récamier describes in her memoirs that she met her in June 1812 in Lyon. She died in 1813 in that city. Her gravesite was retraced in 1937 and her tomb was restored afterwards.
