Claude-Aimé Chenavard was the younger brother of Antoine Chenavard (1787-1883). He worked at the National Printing Office and at the manufactury of Sèvres. In the 1830s he introduced the Renaissance style within the Louis-Philippe style in French furniture. Between 1833 and 1835 he published "Nouveau Recueil de Decorations intérieures". He died in 1838 and was buried at Père Lachaise.
