The soprano Maria Garcia was a daughter of the opera singers Manuel Garcia (1805-1906) and Eugénie Mayer (1814-1880). She was known for her beauty as well as for her talent. She married Étienne-Eugène Crépet, the editor of the Revue nationale et étrangère. Before her early death in 1867 they had three children: Georges, Jacques and Suzanne (1876-1909).
