Cesare de Lazzarini was the son of the architect Giovanni Lazzarini (1769-1834). As the city architect of Lucca he redesigned the cemetery of Lucca in 1844. He also designed the Pantheon and the church that was erected on the cemetery in 1874. Between 1839 and 1869 he was involved in 200 designs for buildings in Lucca, making an important contribution to the present image of the historical center of Lucca. Among his works is the Caffè delle Mura (1832). |
