Louise Boieldieu was the daughter of the composer Adrien Boieldieu 1815-1883), a son of the composer François Adrien Boieldieu (1775-1834). Her mother was Fanny Defourneaux. Louise was a pianist herself. She married the composer Émile Durand in 1857 and they had four children.
