Marquerite Deval made her debut in 1884 at the Bouffes-Parisiens in "Le Chevalier Mignon". After that she performed at the Théâtre des Nouveautés and the Folies-Dramatiques. She appeared in many more revues before she returned to the Bouffes-Parisiens in 1896. In 1898 she founded the Théâtre des Mathurins in the rue des Matrins and she was its manager until 1901. From 1910 onwards she also appeared in movies. In 1931 she was Lady Eversharp at the premiere of Reynaldo Hahn's operetta "Brummell". Her chanson "Quand je suis paf" from the operetta "Mon amant" (1932) was a great success. She continued her career in the theatre until at least 1948 and she made her last movie in 1852. She died in 1955 in Paris. |
