The soprano Marguerite Carrère-Xanrof appeared at the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels before she debuted at the Opera in Paris on 24 June 1892 in Gounod's "Faust" and she sang many parts there until 1901. She was Eudoxie in "La juive" ans became the first Guerhilde at the Opera of Paris in Wagner's "Die Walküre". In 1894 she married the singer Léon Fourneau, known as Xanrof.
