Francine Bessy came from a Belgian family. She appeared in several movies between 1935 and 1947. She was a muse of the painter Marie Laurencin who painted her thirty times. In 1950 she married the actor Pierre Dux. He died in 1990. After her own death in 2004 she was buried in the same grave at Montmartre Cemetery in Paris.
