Eduard Majsch studied at the Academy of Art in Vienna from 1864 to 1869 under Carl Wurzinger. He continued his studies under Eduard von Engerth from 1870 to 1874. Subsequently he travelled in Italy and France.

From 1880 onwards he worked in Pressburg (now Bratislava), where he opened a painting school. He was also a founding member of the Kunstverein in Pressburg. His work was shown in Vienna, Prague and Leipzig.
