Raymond Deslandes was the son of Pierre David Deslandes, a goldsmith merchant. He was the author of many comedies that he wrote alone or together with others. In 1861 he wrote "Un mari qui lance sa femme" together with Eugène Labiche. He was the manager of the Théâtre du Vaudeville. In 1866 he received the Légion d'honneur.
