Paul Dalloz was the son of the lawyer and politician Désiré Dalloz (1795-1869). After Louis Napoleon Bonaparte's coup of 2 December 1851 Salloz became the director of the Moniteur universelle together with Jules Turgan. In 1864 he started the Moniteur universel du soir, a cheap political journal. In 1871 he married the dancer Adeleline Plunkett. He was the owner of La Petite Presse and he received the Légion d'honneur. In 1887 he died in Paris.
