Jean Gris worked at the laboratory of Adolphe-Théodore Brongniart at the Muséum national d'histoire naturelle in Paris. In 1859 he was promoted on microscopic studies of chlorophyll. In 1864 he became Brongniart's assistent. He wrote 80 scientifical articles. Most of them were publushed in the Bulletin de la Société botanique de France and the Annales des sciences naturelles. He was aged only 42 when he died in Paris in 1872. |
